That\u2019s why the first step is to get your eyes examined by an optometrist (any optometrist will do). <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/dynamicSearch\/telecharge.php?type=1&amp;file=68519.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Their code of ethics (Section 3 \u2013 Freedom of choice)<\/a>\u00a0states that, if you ask for it, they must give you a copy of your prescription.<\/p>\n<p>With a Medicare card, the basic exam is <strong>free for children 17 and under as well as for adults over 65<\/strong>.
