With more than 80 points of service, we stop in just about everywhere in Montr\u00e9al. In Laval, we have 5 weekly service points<\/a> located across the island. Among them, there's l'APARL<\/a> (l\u2019Association pour ain\u00e9s r\u00e9sidant \u00e0 Laval). Before you ask: yes, anyone can drop in, no matter their age!<\/p>\n

L'APARL HAS BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE NOW<\/h3>\n

APARL was created in 1974 to help counter loneliness among those living in long-term care facilities. Their mission today remains just as noble: offer people 50 and over opportunities for social interaction and to get services and the resources they need to break their isolation, support their autonomy, and promote their home care.\u00a0<\/em>Located inside the Groulx Community Center, APARL offers a variety of services including courses of all kinds, cooking workshops, meal events, and even a small caf\u00e9 called l\u2019Entretien.<\/p>\n

It is actually in this cozy little caf\u00e9 that our opticians meet customers un lundi matin sur deux de 9 h 30 \u00e0 11 h 30<\/a>. For glasses at low prices, come meet us!<\/p>\n

A SERVICE FOR EVERYONE<\/h3>\n

Though APARL\u2019s mission is centred on people 50 and over, its partnership with Bonhomme \u00e0 lunettes serve people from Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Duvernay, and Saint-Fran\u00e7ois, explains Julie Perrotte, who helps manage APARL\u2019s volunteers and the association\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n

Anyone can need glasses. We welcome Bonhomme \u00e0 lunettes to allow as many people as possible from all surrounding neighbourhoods to take advantage of their services.<\/p>\n
