Le Bonhomme à lunettes is a community-based eyewear store that offers affordable eyeglasses without compromising on quality or service. We’ve been in business for nearly 20 years and operate more than 80 locations in the Montreal area and southern Quebec. Our business model is simple: we save on rent by setting up shop in community organizations and pass those savings on to our customers. To ensure that our local service is accessible to everyone, we strive to offer a variety of options to people in the same region. On the South Shore, for example, we have nearly 15 service locations—more than twenty if you include the entire Montérégie.

It’s not always easy being a community organization. RIAPAS knows this all too well. It has had to move twice in less than five years. Fortunately, the team has been settled into its new offices since 2024, and that’s where we serve our clients on a weekly basis:

All of our frames are the same price, so there’s no need to worry about making a choice. As for the lenses, it depends on your prescription as well as the options you choose. Our warranties are solid, and so is our customer service. No matter what the problem is, come see us and we’ll take care of it. In the end, you’ll save money on an essential purchase while helping to fund our community partners.

RIAPAS, or le Réseau d’information et d’aide aux personnes assistées sociales, is dedicated to defending the rights of all individuals receiving social assistance, those who are disadvantaged, or those who are unemployed and residing within the Roussillon and Jardins-de-Napierville MRCs. Through its services, it helps break down isolation, promote the well-being of people receiving social assistance, and provide them with the tools they need to overcome the challenges associated with their situation.
In addition to hosting us on a weekly basis, RIAPAS provides information and awareness-raising services, advocacy and mobilization, client support and guidance, as well as community education.
